If you join our email list

When you sign up on our website, we keep your email address, which page you signed up on, the date and time you signed up, and the country your connection came from. Cloudflare works out the country; we don't keep your IP address.

We use your address to send occasional emails from Loch & Laurel with early access, giveaways, seasonal offers, and new stays. That is what the signup form says, and it is all we use it for. We don't sell, rent or share your address. It is stored with Cloudflare, which hosts this site.

We keep it until you ask us to take you off the list. To unsubscribe, email stay@lochandlaurel.com and we'll delete your address.

Google Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to see which pages people read and how they find the site. It runs on every page, including the guest manuals we send to people staying with us. It records the pages you visit, the site or search that sent you here, how far you scroll, links you click that leave the site, your device and browser, and your approximate location. Google estimates the location from your IP address.

Analytics sets cookies in your browser so it can tell a return visit from a new one. Our own pages set no other cookies.

Google keeps the detailed visit data for 14 months, then deletes it. Summary reports, such as how many people visited in a month, are kept. You can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

To stop Google Analytics from recording your visits, you can:

• install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or
• use a browser or extension that blocks trackers.

Blocking or deleting cookies stops Analytics from recognizing a return visit. Your visits are still counted. The site works the same either way.

Do Not Track

This site doesn't respond to Do Not Track signals, and Google Analytics doesn't either. The options above are the way to opt out.

Who handles your data

Cloudflare hosts the site and delivers every page. Like any web host, it sees your IP address when your browser asks for a page, and it may keep logs to run and protect its network. It also stores our email list.

Google runs Google Analytics, as described above.

No one else receives information from this site.

Your choices

If you're on our email list, you can ask us to correct or remove your details by emailing stay@lochandlaurel.com.

To keep your visits out of Google Analytics, use the opt-outs above.

Age

This site is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has joined our email list, write to us and we'll delete it.

Booking

Booking is planned to open in November 2026. Bookings will go through a booking system with its own privacy policy, and we'll update this page before booking opens.

Changes to this page

When something here changes, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top.
